How brokering works →Australian domain names · brokered, recovered, bought and sold
We approach the holder of a name you want and negotiate for it. We help businesses get back names they lost. A person reads every enquiry.
Type the name you want. We check who holds it, then we tell you the options.
Schedule of services
We find the holder, make contact without your name, and negotiate the price and the transfer.
How brokering works →A lapsed renewal, an old web designer who holds it, or a drop-catcher. We find out which, then act fast.
Start a recovery →A web address plus a website built for your business. The name goes into your business, and you own both.
See the package →Our register of names for sale is opening. Tell us the name you want, or the name you want to sell.

We are adding names now. The register lists generic and brandable names only. Tell us the name, or the kind of name, that you want. We look for it and reply by email.

Recovery
The reminder went to an old email address. The site went dark and nobody noticed for a few weeks.
If your .com.au expired →Your old designer registered the name for you. Now they do not answer, or they want a fee to release it.
If a designer holds it →The name was released and someone registered it straight away. Now it shows a parking page or a for-sale sign.
If a drop-catcher has it →The licence period ends. The website and email on the name can stop working.
Only the current holder can renew the name. Act here and recovery is simple.
The name goes on the public drop list for 24 hours. Drop-catchers watch this list.
The name is released. Any eligible person or business can register it. The first application wins.
If your name expired in the last 30 days, send us an enquiry today. We check its status and who can renew it. Then we tell you the fastest way to get it back into your business.
Brokerage
Many good names sit unused, and many holders will sell. A cold email from a stranger rarely gets a reply. We make the approach for you.
Tell us your top price too. We keep that figure private.
We use the registry record and the name's history. We do not give the holder your name.
We bring every offer back to you. You decide yes or no.
The holder moves the name to your business. We follow the transfer until it completes.

Questions
Often, yes. For 30 days after expiry, only the current holder can renew the name. After that, the name goes on the public drop list for 24 hours. Then it is released, and any eligible person or business can register it.
The registrant on the registry record controls the name. We check that record with you. Then we ask the holder to move the name to your business. If the holder does not meet the eligibility rules for the name, auDA takes complaints about that.
The holder must be a commercial entity. The name must Match its business or company name, an acronym of that name, its Australian trade mark, or the name of a service or goods that it sells. This is auDA Licensing Rules, rule 2.4.4. We check this with you before a transfer.
A .au direct name needs an Australian presence, for example an ABN. This is auDA Licensing Rules, rule 2.4.3. It does not need the name to Match a business name.
You pay our broker fee only if the deal completes. We agree the fee with you before we contact the holder. The price for the name itself comes from the negotiation.
