Sell a name

Sell a domain name you hold

Tell us the name and the price you have in mind. We check the name, then we tell you if we can list it on our register or find a buyer for it.

What happens after you send it

  1. We check the registry record for the name, and who the holder is.
  2. We tell you if the name suits our register. The register lists generic and brandable names only.
  3. We tell you our fee before we list the name or contact any buyer.
  4. When a buyer agrees a price, you move the name to the buyer through your registrar.
Before you sell a .com.au

The buyer must be eligible for the name. A .com.au name must Match the buyer's business or company name, an acronym of that name, its Australian trade mark, or the name of a service or goods that it sells (auDA Licensing Rules, rule 2.4.4).

So the right buyer for a .com.au name is usually a business that matches it. We look for that buyer.
